PASS in Harare Daily Runnings: Thursday 9 November

Day 1 of PASS in Harare! Pan African Space Station (PASS) officially lands in The National Gallery of Zimbabwe (NGZ) – broadcasting LIVE from 9 – 12 November, 15:00 – 21:00 (CAT) daily. Kudzanai Chiurai will launch his first ever solo exhibition in his home country this afternoon at the gallery titled ‘We Need New Names’. Join us at NGZ or via our live stream.

17:00 – PASS music selection

18:00Rumbi Katedza presents an retrospective listening session on music from Zimbabwean and African film and television with guests, actress Sandra Chidavanyika and filmmaker Tatenda Mabudzi .

19:00Tinofireyi Zhou’s ‘Somewhere Between North and South Samora’ feat. guest Chirikure Chirikure. Tinofireyi Zhou will host a daily programme on the beat-making and spoken word scene in Harare including LIVE performances and conversations with guests.

20:00The Monkey Nuts LIVE performance in studio featuring Sungura gutarist Sam Mabukwa

PASS Landing at National Gallery of Zimbabwe, Harare

From 9 – 12 November, the Pan African Space Station (PASS) landed in The National Gallery of Zimbabwe (NGZ) in the centre of Harare. In collaboration with visual artist Kudzanai Chiurai, who launched his first ever solo exhibition in his home country titled ‘We Need New Names’, Chimurenga installed the PASS studio as a public research platform towards a Zimbabwe focused issue of the Chimurenga Chronic.
