Jeffery Allen in Conversation with Bongani Kona
On Wednesday 31 May 2017, Chimurenga hosted an intimate dialogue and recording session with special guest Jeffery Renard Allen, facilitated by Bongani Kona.
American poet, essayist and novelist Jeffery Renard Allen is the author of five books, including the widely celebrated novel Song of the Shank (2014), which is a take on the life of Thomas Greene Wiggins, a nineteenth century African-American piano virtuoso and composer who performed under the stage name Blind Tom. Allen is also the author of two collections of poetry, and two other works of fiction. He is currently a professor of Creative Writing at the University of Virginia.

Felasophy
On 2 December 2005, Chimurenga hosted Felasophy for the launch of Chimurenga 08: We’re All Nigerian, at Shivava Cafe in Newtown, Johannesburg.
