Wanlov the Kubolor, who gave us a taste of his wrap-skirt-rousing Pidgin rap and Ghanian folk music at PASS 2009 has made the ever pidgen musical. Why’d he do it? “Coz Ov Moni!!!”
“Coz Ov Moni” is the story of an extraordinary day in the life of two ordinary young men in a 21st century Africa. Expressed entirely in music and rhyme, the film captures the exuberance, energy and rhythm of the urban African, using choreography and color to enrich the story in great detail. This film takes an innovative approach, combining the lyrical art of the wordsmith with art house cinematography, giving it an unprecedented dynamic intensity as the audience is spun into a web of comedy, dramatic action and dance.
