Today’s Selektion
The Ghost keeps churning out the goodness. African funk, African, Afro-beat, deep, off-kilter jazzy house, eruphoric analogue beats… and more until DJ Mighty does his thing at 9pm.
When The Morning Comes
PASS continues it’s pan-African journey with this next instalment featuring everything from Swazi hip-hop and soul to afro-funk folklore, traditional rhythms and playful afro-pop sounds. After 6pm we will pick up the pace with some superbly melodic, highly danceable, hypnotic, quintessentially beautiful house before legends Blacky Tempi and Tete Mambisa take to the stage at 9pm.
Swazi celebration
Swaziland in the house! Swazi soul and hip hop all afternoon into this evening. Homegrown rhythms, siSwati soul-searching and bush-fire free-flowing lyricism taking in politics and social commentary but always bringing it back to the party.
Mother and other tongues
Genre busting sounds from the PASS universe featuring women all Saturday afternoon into the evening. Listen out for Lady May, Busi Mhlongo, Fatima Bramme Sey, Ms Meshell Ndegeocello, Tracy Chapman, Donna Sommer, Nina Simone and much more…
