FollowMakeson Browne and Reza Khota share a particular and powerful gift for sound magic and musical conjurings.
They explore the intersections of spirit, sound, and empirical musical tinkering before things get deep at the regular Thursday Church night.
Makeson has performed and worked with the likes of Pharaoh Sanders, Finley Quaye, Soweto Kinch, Louis Moholo, René McLean, Tony Sedres, Hein van de Geyn, Zim Nqwana, Sibongile Khumalo, Winston Mankunku, Jimmy Dlu Dlu and Dave Young to mention a few. And on the same stage with such jazz artists as Wayne Shorter, Charles Lloyd, Cedar Walton, Andrew Hill, Donald Brown, Gonzalo Rubalcaba, Danilo Perez and Yusef Lateef.
Reza is know for his genre defining guitar improvisations and compositions that engage experimental jazz, the classical avant-garde, Indian Classical music and progressive guitar music. His best know for Babu, a collaboration of virtuoso instrumentalsits that play original compositions based on Indian Classical Ragas and Talas.
