Born Dieu-Merci Laurent Mapumba Cilombo, Mapumba comes from the DRC. After a stint studying in Zambia, he based himself in South Africa where he has made a name for himself for his acoustic steal guitar skills and inventive lyrics that freely mix French, English Swahili and Chiluba.
