Need a Plan Be
Sakhile Moleshe and Bokani Dyer bring the Soul Housing Project.
The essence is groove! Taking in everything from the bump of hip-hop cadence to the swing of soul, from the hypnotic refrain of deep-house to the wobble of drum & bass.
Listen in by clicking the live stream (left) or check them out at Pan African Space Station back in September 2010.
Bokani Dyer returns
Pianist and composer Bokani Dyer and crew delved deep into the African American and African traditions, mixing hard smokin’ bop, gospel blues and R&B with classic South African soul jazz of the 1970s. Dyer is prolific collaborator and a Standard Bank Young artist winner. His new CD Emancipate The Story is available on Dyertribe distributed by Jassics.
Bokani Dyer’s Septet
Pianist and composer Bokani Dyer’s Septet play jazz compositions ranging from the sombre to the playful, with a kaleidoscope of allusions to both classic jazz and far edgier sounds. Here gospel blues blasts play off against hard bop grooves and allusions to South African soul jazz of the 1970s. Dyer is prolific collaborator and a Standard Bank Young artist winner. His new CD Emancipate The Story is available on Dyertribe distributed by Jassics.
